  • Tudor Period Book Mark
    This would of been on a leather strap and used for keeping the page in a book.  Maybe from a religious book such as a bible and discarded after Henry VIII banned many of the Catholic publications at the time. 
    It could also be just an ornate strap end.

    Circa 14th Century AD
    This would of once been attached to the end of a leather dagger or sword sheath. The Chape's purpose was to stop the point of the blade cutting through the leather and into ones flesh.
